Fondazione Dynamo was founded on April 9, 2003 by INTEK SpA,
holding quoted in the Milan stock Exchange, Fondazione Dynamo – Philanthropy Engine – is a recognised Partnership Foundation.
Fondazione Dynamo, Foundation of Venture Philanthropy, intends to contribute to philanthropic development in Italy,
through the financial, technical and managerial support and promotion of new social ventures able to operate
according to efficiency, autonomy and sustainability criteria.
Venture Philanthropy is the application of the Venture Capital model to the non-profit sector: a managerial and
financial investment that helps a non-profit organisation define its own strategic plan and implement it by
strengthening the entire organisational structure in order to maximum results of social interest.
To promote the growth and development of social venture, Fondazione Dynamo works in association with financed
organisations through:
1. Long-term financial partnerships: the Foundation grants long-term financial support aimed to guarantee
financial autonomy and continuity for long-term plan and project development.
2. Continual tutoring: through a systematic transfer of managerial and entrepreneurial skills such as
strategic and financial planning, position analysis, organisation and internal process analysis and performance
monitoring. These activities can contribute to the success of even non-profit organisations.
3. Result assessment: the shared identification of significant parameters and indicators permits the
financed organisation to monitor and assess the results of its activities in terms of social impact,
value and achieved goals.
The Fondazione Dynamo organisation model is built around the following principles:
- streamlined structure with only coordination and guarantee functions;
- systematic outsourcing of all activities aimed to create and manage social ventures through partnerships
with companies with high professional standings;
- pro bono-volunteering: the growing private and public interest in the Third Sector can represent an additional
resource as well as the initiative's motivation.
